Privacy Policy

This policy explains what happens to personal information in connection with the website at paleflux.online. The responsible entity is East trading company s.r.o., Dlouhá 730/35, Staré Město, 110 00 Praha 1, Czech Republic, company registration 02355914, contactable at info@paleflux.online. East trading company s.r.o. publishes Paleflux and decides what happens to the small amount of information described below.
Because Paleflux is written for readers in Australia, East trading company s.r.o. handles personal information in connection with this site in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy is arranged as a walkthrough of those thirteen principles, so you can check each one against what the site actually does, followed by the matters that do not belong to a single principle.
The policy covers paleflux.online and nothing else. Links in the course lead to other websites — game publishers, Australian government bodies, and the affiliate link described below. Those sites are run by other organisations under their own privacy policies, and this policy has no application once you leave.
APP 1 — Open and transparent management of personal information
This page is the whole of the practice. It is kept current, it is linked from the footer of every page, and it describes the site as it is actually built rather than in general terms. The Cookie Policy covers the same ground from the technical side and says the same things. If anything here is unclear, write to info@paleflux.online and it will be explained or rewritten.
APP 2 — Anonymity and pseudonymity
Reading Paleflux requires no identification of any kind. There is no account, no sign-in and no form, so there is nothing to be anonymous from. If you write to us, you may use a pseudonymous address and sign with any name you like. The one exception is a request for access to, or correction of, personal information: to answer that we need enough information to be confident the request comes from the person it concerns, which in practice means writing from the address the information relates to.
APP 3 — Collection of solicited personal information
Two categories of information exist, and only two.
- Server access logs. Kept by our hosting provider as a normal part of running a web server. Each entry records an IP address, the date and time of the request, the URL requested, the referring page if your browser sends one, and the user-agent string your browser supplies.
- Email you send us. If you write to info@paleflux.online, we hold your email address, any name you give, the content of your message and anything you attach to it.
Nothing else is collected. There are no contact forms, no newsletter, no accounts, no progress saving, no quizzes, no comment system, no cookies, no web fonts, no analytics, no advertising tags, no profiling and no cross-site tracking. The site requests no file from any other server: everything it loads — the stylesheet, the one small script, the icon, the illustrations — comes from paleflux.online itself.
APP 4 — Dealing with unsolicited personal information
Sometimes an email contains more than is needed to answer it — details about other people, documents nobody asked for, information volunteered in passing. Where we would not have collected that information ourselves, and where it is lawful and reasonable to do so, it is deleted rather than kept.
APP 5 — Notification of the collection of personal information
This page is the notification, and the categories in APP 3 above are the complete list. Access logs are collected automatically by the server when you request a page, which is unavoidable in the way the web works. Email is collected only because you chose to write. There is no third circumstance.
APP 6 — Use or disclosure of personal information
Access logs are used to keep the site available and secure: diagnosing faults, investigating abuse such as attempted intrusion, and understanding whether something is broken. Email is used to read and reply to your message, and to make any correction to the course that your message prompts.
Neither category is used for anything else. Personal information is never sold, rented, traded, or shared with anyone for marketing. It is disclosed outside East trading company s.r.o. only to the service providers named under APP 8, or where disclosure is required by law — for example in response to a valid order from a court or an authority with power to compel it.
APP 7 — Direct marketing
None is carried out. There is no mailing list to join and no way to join one. We send no newsletters, no promotional email, no course reminders and no follow-ups. If you write to us you will receive a reply and nothing after it.
APP 8 — Cross-border disclosure of personal information
Two service providers are involved in running this site: our hosting provider, which operates the web server and keeps its access logs, and our email service provider, which carries and stores mail sent to info@paleflux.online. No other recipient exists.
Both may store or process data outside Australia, and the location may be outside Australia at any given time. East trading company s.r.o. is itself established in the Czech Republic, so correspondence is in practice read there. If this matters to you, the practical control is the one described under APP 2: you do not need to identify yourself to read anything on this site.
APP 9 — Government related identifiers
No government related identifier is adopted, used or disclosed. We never ask for a tax file number, a driver licence number, a Medicare number, a passport number or anything similar, and you should not send one.
APP 10 — Quality of personal information
The only personal information we hold that could be wrong is what you have told us in an email. If something in a message to us was mistaken, write again and say so, and the record will be corrected. Access logs are a mechanical record of requests and are not edited.
APP 11 — Security of personal information
The site is served over HTTPS, so what you read is encrypted in transit. There is no database and no store of submitted information, because nothing is submitted: the site has no form of any kind. Access to the hosting account and to the mailbox is limited to people working for East trading company s.r.o. and is protected by the sign-in controls those providers offer. Access logs are deleted on the schedule below, and nothing is kept that does not need to be kept. We hold no certification and claim compliance with no standard beyond what is stated on this page.

APP 12 — Access to personal information
You may ask what personal information East trading company s.r.o. holds about you and receive a copy of it. Write to info@paleflux.online with Privacy request in the subject line. There is no charge for making a request. We reply within 30 days. In practice the answer for most people is that we hold nothing, because they have never written to us and the log entries from their visit have already expired.
APP 13 — Correction of personal information
You may ask for information we hold about you to be corrected, by the same route and with the same subject line. Corrections are made within 30 days. If a correction is refused, you will be told why, in writing.
Affiliate links
Step 1 and Step 3 of the course each contain one link to the website of War Thunder. These are paid affiliate links. Following one takes you off paleflux.online immediately; we do not redirect you through any intermediate page of our own, and we add nothing to the link.
Once you are on their site, War Thunder and the affiliate network that operates the link may set cookies or use similar technology on their own domains to record that the referral came from us. That happens under their privacy policies, not this one. East trading company s.r.o. receives commission reports from the network. Those reports are used only to check that payments are correct, and we do not seek, request or hold information that would identify an individual reader from them. Complaints
If you believe your privacy has been mishandled, write to info@paleflux.online and set out what happened. A complaint is acknowledged and answered within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with the response, you can take the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au/privacy/privacy-complaints, which explains how to lodge a complaint and what it can do.
Data breaches
If we become aware of unauthorised access to, or loss of, personal information we hold, the incident is assessed promptly. Where it is likely to result in serious harm, the people affected and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner are notified in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Children
Paleflux is not directed at people under 16. Parts of the course are written for parents, but the reader we have in mind is an adult. We collect nothing that would identify a child, because we collect nothing that would identify anyone, and there is no mechanism on this site through which a young person could give us information.
Readers in the European Union and the United Kingdom
East trading company s.r.o. is established in the Czech Republic, so the General Data Protection Regulation also applies to its handling of personal information. The legal basis for keeping server access logs is our legitimate interest in running a secure and functioning website. The legal basis for handling an email is responding to the enquiry you have chosen to send. There is no consent basis for anything, because there are no cookies, no tracking and no marketing to consent to.
If the GDPR or the UK GDPR applies to you, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, exercised through info@paleflux.online. You may also complain to a supervisory authority. For East trading company s.r.o. that authority is the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Czech Republic (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů), uoou.gov.cz.
Changes to this policy
When this policy is revised, the effective date at the top is updated. If a change is material — a new category of information, a new recipient, a different retention period — a note saying so is displayed at the top of this page for 30 days.
